More than 700 Granite Staters attended the #FamiliesBelongTogether rally at the NH State House, organized by a broad coalition of local organizations, to call for the immediate reunification of families and an end to family detention and separation – at the border and in New Hampshire.
Attendees heard from a multitude of speakers, including Attorney Lina Shayo, who spoke on the negative impact separation and detention have on families. Attorney Shayo is quoted as saying, “Detention should be the last option – Our goal should be to keep families together throughout the process, whether it is at the border or within NH.”
